When a manager recruits an employee, he anticipates that the new recruit will work fine and will get along with everyone. Still a wise manager will avoid certain situations where he can’t fire that employee if things won’t go the same way as they supposed to be.
You can’t run away if the hiring order is from above, but you can try to avoid a friend who’s pressuring you to hire his friend.
Be vigilant from the start, hiring and firing is a really serious step so do give serious thought on making the decision. Know the nature and behavior of the interviewee, observe the person carefully and ask questions that would reflect his or her real personality.
Keep an eye on your new employee and stay up-to-date of his performance. His performance will obviously tell you if this person fit for the company or not.
Be responsible and always take initiative. There are two types of people in this world; one who wants to be lead and the other who wants to lead. So become the latter, you don’t wanna become like those who dance on someone else’s finger tips. Be among those who motivates other rather than those who are motivated by others. Don’t forget that Leaders are born not made.
Don’t every let your confidence; keep your confidence lit by believing in yourself. Never always expect your colleagues to defend you when you are in a fight with the organization.
Remember that nobody no matter how many years you’ve served with them will help you by sacrificing their own jobs on the line. Don’t ever listen to them even if they say things like, “Go tiger don’t worry we’ll back you for sure”. This all sound encouraging to you at first but in the real world it disappears when the order for your firing or something like that is passed.
The last and important tip is, don’t ever think that the organization you are working in is perfect or flawless. You wanted job, an organization hire you, but don’t think it is a perfect organization. An organization is populated with every type of people, some may be good and some may be bad. The people working in it influence organization. Just keep your focus in work and get along with everyone. Keep working hard and try your level best to achieve the goals of that organization.
